Included also are printed emails from Maureen Laursen and Lucy Ward to Sean O'Connor which provide contextual information on number of photographs they gave to him (2008). Photographs have been arranged chronologically, firstly by the original date and, secondly when the photograph is a reprint, the photographs are arranged by the year the photograph was originally taken rather than creation date.

    Joseph O’ Neill

    Material relates to Christopher Joseph O’Neill. Throughout the material Joseph is referred to both as Joseph and Joe. Joseph was son of Ellen O’Neill, who owned 15 Francis street. Joe was an operator with Marconi Company, and travelled with them until his father died in 1927. He took over the responsibility of 15 Francis street when his mother died in 1949. Joseph was an active member of Fianna Fail party, acting as director of elections and also served as a senator in Dail Eireann. Joseph married Monica Keenan in 1958. Sub-series divided into Sub-sub series which reflect different aspects of his life. For example late estate of Ellen, income tax, accommodation, finance travel, letters of correspondence and politics.

    Following the death of Joseph's mother in 1949, Joseph took over responsibility of his mother's estate of 15 Francis Street. James O' Neill

Included is material relating to James (Jim) O' Neill. James, brother of Joseph, was arrested in 1922 following an IRA bank robbery, in which Max Green was killed. James was found guilty and jailed. Following his release in 1924 he emigrated to Canada where he stayed. Included in this Sub-series is material which relates to James's life and family, Max Green case, his emigration, military career and his Canadian family.

    Item relates to the cover illustration of The Freeman's Journal entitled 'The Waiting Plough'. The illustration shows a woman walking through a field, representing of Ireland. Her arm is extended towards a plough that is burrowed into the soil. Next to it are two rocks with the words "dissension" and "civil war" written on them.
