Joseph O’ Neill
Material relates to Christopher Joseph O’Neill. Throughout the material Joseph is referred to both as Joseph and Joe. Joseph was son of Ellen O’Neill, who owned 15 Francis street. Joe was an operator with Marconi Company, and travelled with them until his father died in 1927. He took over the responsibility of 15 Francis street when his mother died in 1949. Joseph was an active member of Fianna Fail party, acting as director of elections and also served as a senator in Dail Eireann. Joseph married Monica Keenan in 1958. Sub-series divided into Sub-sub series which reflect different aspects of his life. For example late estate of Ellen, income tax, accommodation, finance travel, letters of correspondence and politics.
The Estate of Late Mother & Francis Street
Following the death of Joseph's mother in 1949, Joseph took over responsibility of his mother's estate of 15 Francis Street. Included is correspondence from tax brokers, Hibernian bank, the Corporation of Dublin to Joseph in relation to 15 Francis Street following the death of his mother, Ellen. Included also is a letter from a solicitor to Josephs sister Mary Hillard (1949).
